I am venturing into the DIY costume industry to save on some cash and to create exactly the dress I want. (image below)
My dress includes feathers. I am trying to create a black feather tail out of boas, with about 5 boas hanging from a bustle.
1) I am having trouble figuring out where to buy quality black feather boas, if anyone has any suggestions please let me know (or even of what type of feathers I should get)
2) Anyone have any suggestions for attaching the feathers? I want to have about 5 boas attached to the back of a leotard (the leotard has an open back so there is only fabric covering the buttocks area. I'm not sure if I can just attach them to the top of the fabric or need to first build a bustle. Help please!
