Floats for standard dresses

Hi all,

I bought a smooth dress that I'd like to use for standard, but unfortunately, the store where the dress came from doesn't have any floats for it. Does anyone know of a place (near Boston, or available online) that would makes or sells just floats? Thanks in advance.

Hey,

you cannot go to a "store" and buy"floats". Ballroom dresses are almost always made individually and require floats made individually. If you can find a matching (or contrasting)fabric in a fabric store you can ask a seamstress to make floats for the dress.

any good seamstress should have no problem sewing you a silk chiffon float if you privide her with a picture of what you want....my pro's mother has made many for me...all you have to do is cut it, surge the edges and add snaps to the places you want it to attach and a loop for the finger or a bracelet from which to attach it
