Football in the USA

Hey folks, the new season is approaching with preseason games already happening and the first regular season games not far off now.

Yaaaaaaaaaaaaay football!

The Canadian football season started a couple of weeks ago. Unfortunately, my team isn't doing well this year (*pout*) but that doesn't keep me from cheering. I'm looking forward to this year's NFL season though.

Things are really getting down to the end. The action has been intense recently, and many playoff spots are beginning to take shape. :cool:

And the Colts lost today. :shock: :D

Yeah...that 60-yard field goal by the Titan's kicker was probably the highlight of the day for football - amazing!

Didn't the Bucs' kicker make a 62-yarder earlier in the season?

Well, I said "highlight of the day". Yes, I believe they said this kick was the 4th longest? Although I was 1/2 paying attention. I just think it was monumental because of the timing and who they were playing. I'm not sad to see the Colts drop a few :raisebro:

What's crazy is that I heard on the highlights show, that Jeff Fisher was originally going to punt, but Tony Dungy called timeout. After the timeout, Fisher decided to send in the kicker to try it.

After the game, an ESPN reporter asked the kicker (Rob Bironas) what the longest kick he had ever made at any level of football was. He replied, "You just saw it!"

Good to see the Titans starting to bounce back. The beginning of the season was miserable. I'm glad they decided to go ahead and throw Vince Young in. He's coming along faster than I thought he would. The playoffs are probably out of reach this year, but they are building a good base for next season.

I question I tend to hear a lot, will Brett Favre call it quits after this year. So I'll just say that I have no answer. We all thought he would last year.

About Favre - I heard that he skipped getting his ankle surgery, so if he does play next year, he'll still have some bone spurs in his ankle.

The guy sure has a high pain threshold, I'll give him that!

Yeah, never missed a game his entire career. Consecutive starts is a record for QB's. He might have had to miss one game in the 2002 season, however that next week was a bye week.

I think I remember that. It was his thumb/hand, wasn't it?

return

I,m not so sure the club wants him to continue ( behind closed doors ).
Time to move on , and draft a good young prospect , or trade .
