For practice: Private room or Sharing room

so true....I find them useless. particularly since I have to practice alone which means nearly getting clobbered with every move

Our studio has a large ballroom, a smaller ballroom, and a couple of very small practice rooms. My lessons were in the small ballroom until coach said she wanted us where she could see us. I think she knew I needed to get used to having a critical audience LOL

I still prefer to practice alone in a practice room where I can figure out the new stuff without comment. Coach calls that "private movement time"

Practice rooms at comps on the other hand....I wish they were empty! They are usually way too small for the amount of people practicing there at any given time.

My experience is that they're usually pretty useless because they don't have suitable floors.

I enjoy private lessons when I have studio to myself and my instructor only. No distractions. We can play our music as much as I like. I believe it is a “real” private lesson comparing to lessons when the floor space is shared with others. Of cause, it is not always possible.
In this case, I am trying to schedule my lessons at the hour with as few people as possible on the floor.
Also, from now on I will never take private lessons in the studio with very small floor size, since mostly I am dancing international and smooth.
