Freestyle Dancing !!!

Hello i'm new here can i know more about freestyle dancing? Recent i have been asked to go for some audition and must prepared myself for some Freestyle dancing? But i just couldn't figure out what's freestyle dancing? Anyone know cares to tell me what's freestyle dancing about? Is it when the music just play, we just follow the music with our own movements? Thanks

What are the requirements for the audition, more specific then simply some freestyle dancing? I would think that they would say how long, depending on the part you are auditioning for you might want to show certain skills, can you choose the music...? More details would eb helpful, and welcome to df!!

Hello Sagitta thanks for the reply. Well its a dance audition, they chose the music for us. It says it wanan see how our flexibility. Also i'm turning 20 this yr i learned chinese dance club at 14-16 yrs old and took part some contest and won bronze. Will my bone still flexible at 20? I soo scared it really affect my life ... :~( ohh yah i still can do sit and reach to 60+++cm soo yeah ... i have abit of dance skill but is it means freestyle dancing meaning we dance with our own dance step with the msuic winout to remember any steps? Thanks

hello timmy,i think i can help you with freestyle,i do about 10 different dances but still love to freestyle dance.anyway a couple of suggestions to become a better freestyle dancer is-where you live can you get soul train? they been doing a freestyle going down the line for 30 years on tv, you can pick up some cool ideas from that show-but i think the 70"s and 80"s dancers were cooler,also hip hop has some fantastic moves and ideas to pick from, there are hip hop videos out there,jazz classes can help-most pros go to jazz classes to learn how to use there feet- legs etc and last but not least the asian tv network-the dances in videos from india are off the charts with there dancing-check them out,the ladies hand movements are not matched by anyone in the world- check it out-peace out 8)

Hi dancin Dj well i have not had any professional tranining yet but i had join chinese dance club in secondary school when 13-16yrs old and got into competition and got myself bronze.. But once the audition, if i got in will get into it then i may get those training. So for my audition they told me is to see my flexiblity so is it means that to see how we react to the msuci and dont have to remeber any steps ?
