hey I know you probably get posts like these a lot but can n e 1 give advice or a website on freestyle dancing? Most of the threats talk about grinding, and im not much into that right now. My friends always ask me to go to dances with them but i don't wanna feel stupid not knowing what im doing! Ive read a lot that you should feel the music or go with the flow, but that hasent really been working. my feet have no idea where to go and my hands are all over. If anyone could try to describe and actually moves too that would be great. thanx :)

Hi,

I know what you mean. It's all very well saying 'just move to the music' but the music won't wait while you work out HOW to move, and it can be embarrassing trying to work it all out while other people seem to be dancing without any inhibitions.

Here's an idea -

Find some music you really like, and play it at home or somewhere private. Then just move around yourself - experiment in a safe environment. Or check out videos of dancing (perhaps films like 'Saturday Night Fever' or 'Dirty Dancing' or anything you like) and try to copy the dancing.

You could also look at some of the free video clips of dance moves on this website -

Oh yes, that's really pathetic

Seriously though, I don't remember being told about any worldwide rule which says that all human beings must be able to move in time to music.

Could you ask your dancing friends to show you what they do, and copy it?
