non-stop service between Denver and Ontario airport in addition to non-stop service between Austin and Ontario beginning in October. Granted it will not have daily service but 3x a week is just the start and some fares will be 49 bucks! I do anything to avoid major airline hubs.

49 + seat fee+ carry on fee+baggage fee. It all adds up. That said, they are good at no frills, very few people carry on so they load up and move out quickly. Seats don't recline, no problems there.

Frontier Airlines will be adding, from Ontario Airport, flights to Dulles and flights to San Antonio Texas- no change of planes!hurray. Yes there may be disadvantages but kudos to the new ownership of the airport for bringing some short haul (granted Dulles airport isn't a short haul) gate openings to Airlines. Short of dealing with LAX. They will be using Airbus equipment.

How many flights a day does Ontario get these days? I remember going out there when it was pretty much just a GA airstrip.

The City of Ontario completed the buy-back from the City of Los Angeles.
There are two terminals, 1/2 mile from each other. Their drive is to attract international travel as well. It's a matter of available gates and leases with airlines.
Relaxing terminals that are Very easy to get through. love it. Just as much as I love Long Beach Airport.

I took a flight recently, non-stop Ont to Aus. On Frontier Airlines for $39 each way. I packed an under the seat bag, took a book and a mini-lunch with me. If I was staying longer then a few days the luggage would have been in overhead bin. Ok. The seats do not recline as they are already in a quasi-recline position, there are no TV’s, etc to entertain you, but to me, this did not matter. What mattered was a non-stop, 2 hour 5 minute flight from an airport 20 minutes from my home. No traffic to get there and a pretty quiet terminal. BTW, we arrived almost 20 minutes early both in Aus and coming back to Ont. I may not do this all the time, and I may not find a $39 each way air fare - yet the savings were enormous to my mental travel well being as well as our Yukon, the cost of gasoline, 2 nights at a hotel and road trip food to get back and forth. Hurray!!!!!

Every time I see an airline posting "Non" stop, I really hope they don't mean that ! ( I need them to stop at least once, my destination ) .:D
