Goals for 2008

I don't do resolutions, but I like to set a few goals for the new year.

My main one this year is to find a new job.

What do you hope to accomplish this year?

Get at least two firsts in a competition. :)

Find a serious girlfriend (been single WAY too long. pretty sure it's been over three years now)

New job (once this contract is over)

Find 4 other dance schools who can do tap dance Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday :D

Goto an audition for a dance school and perform 'What a feeling' like Jennifer Beals double did wearing those big socks :D

Take my tap exams

Get super fit at the gym

Have a new belly

Find a lady friend so I can dance with her in the living room and throw ourselves over the couch into a bowl of custard

Buy a bunny wabbit

Stop working '24' hours and chill out a bit

More tap dancing. Oh yeah I already said that.

Get accepted into the tech fellowship at work

Do some lectures for local elementary schools

Learn some quickstep

Put together a show routine that I've had in my mind for a couple of years now

Get the legal problems concerning our house put to bed

Dance at the full-silver level in rumba, cha-cha, waltz, and foxtrot

Finish the rec room

I notice two guys here are looking for a lady-friend. Well, I'm looking for a gentleman-friend in 2008 ;)

find four judges that score us above 3rd......
get funded
represent canada in ballroom
(OK so one of the above is a bit far fetched! but its not good to have entirely reachable goals :))

Find a satisfying balance of ballroom, "ballroom support" (ie scrutineering/registration websites), social life (whats that?),and personal relaxation time

learn to set reachable, long term goals/ realize there aren't 30 hours in a day

stop dreaming, start doing

be better about impulse shopping (books, clothes, movies)

be healthier (mind and body), be happier

go on at least one date

( no real dance goals in there.... since I still can't really articulate what my honest goals there are)

Start learning Argentine tango
Start learning west coast swing
Go to the gym (note the absence of any declaration of frequency)
Get back on track with professional exams
Eat more shortbread and baklava
find four judges that score us above 3rd......

Good point! On that note, I would like to open (and use) the toilet cleaning supplies given me by my nieces.

Yeah, I'm lucky in that my social life is ballroom related. Or at least, same people. We're not supposed to talk about work (work for them) outside of the studio. Jackie's rule. :)

I'll see WCS and AT and add Bolero, Quickstep, VW and Cumbia to list of things I'd like to learn. I know a sugar push or "basic" in wcs, but that's it of anything on that list. :)

Oh gee... lets see...
Find a new job... resume already posted on job sites so I'm on my way!

Take dancing MORE seriously...dare I say I'll enter a competition by the end of this year?

Continue to loose weight (108 lbs lost so far...70lbs to go!)

Find a nice gentleman willing to go out dancing

Develop relationships specifically related to the area of romantic involvement.
(the above two could be combined, but don't necessarily have to be)

And this year... being lazy is not an option... in fact that is my new mantra.

Youv'e got four closed regionals, 1 closed national, and at least 5 open comps all within close driving distance so you don't have to pay extra for hotel, etc Kat. Go for it. :)

Won't talk about what those other two nationals cost, those packages are insane.

I have no way to even be sure my pro will still be teaching when I get back, but still planning alreayd to compete in December. :D

:) In my state last night, I made a promise to a fellow student that as long as the job thing goes through... I would get some proper ballroom shoes, enter a comp, and let her design my comp attire (she's quite the seamstress) ... so um... I really hope the job thing goes through... LOL :p
