Great First Tandas

Riffing off DChester's unfortunate experience, let's talk about enjoyable first experiences.

I was visiting in a different city once, one known for close embrace dancing, so I attended a milonga there. I watched for a while, then asked a woman to dance. After the first dance she stepped back and asked if I wanted to get married. I said, of course.

Ha ha, here it is http://www.dance-forums.com/showthread.php?p=946527#post946527

While I can easily remember plenty of bad tandas, only one good experience comes to my mind. A japanese tourist came once to our weekly practica/milonga, alone and not knowing anybody. While here, she danced with many people in many styles, including a traspie milonga in open style with me. All her steps were exactly was I was leading, nothing less, nothing more. There was not a single miss. I felt quite happy, this was somehow validating my lead.

My guess is it was just her way of telling him that she liked the tanda.

The experience strongly reinforced my belief that some followers can be quite pleased with a warm and intimate embrace, and simple steps done with nuance and expression.

Still not sure she did ask you, but I 100% agree on this one.

In my last milonga which was few days ago, I danced with this young and gorgeous girl. She is a beginner and her frame wasn't very good, so I chose to go for open embrace. We danced for several songs and she was like melting when she told me how much she enjoyed dancing with me and that she wasn't sure if I was enjoying too or just did not want to say no :)
