Grocery delivery services

Has anyone here ever tried using one of the various online grocery stores/delivery services (like Peapod, Safeway, and some others)? Were you satisfied? Did you find out anything interesting?

It's just one other thing I've been thinking about trying lately because, yes, I am that lazy.

have always wondered about them, too. there are so many ways to get your food delivered to you these days... amazing.

you could get out of shopping trips & still maintain control over what you buy (as opposed to letting DH run amuck <lol>)

Exactly!

Even better--no schlepping groceries from the car trunk to the stoop, from the stoop to inside the door (while preventing cat escapage), and then from there into the kitchen and to the fridge/pantry. I HATE the schlepping. And why does it seem like it's always raining or cold as blazes when I'm trying to do that?

i remember the endless schlepping when my kids were little... schlep the kids in... schlep the bags... put kids away... put bags away... <g>

now i load the bags onto the front stoop & call the kids... "payback"

Back in the heady days of the web boom, I would have WebVan deliver my groceries. It was awesome, they had really good products and were a cut above Safeway.

Sadly, they grew too fast and collapsed.

I've had Safeway.com deliver a couple of times, it's been good for me, but I really preferred WebVan.

I will remind you that your location is noted as "chicago area."

You know what "area" I'm in??? "Historic Harper's Ferry area."

You want kettle corn? We've got kettle corn. Not much else though...unless you count cows and fields of field corn.

I know that they have it in my area too. I have often wanted to try it out. It's just that they do make you pay an extra fee. So, it seems useless to me since it's right around the corner from me. But if ever I couldn't leave the house like if I were sick or what have you, then I would definitely give it a try. ;)

bunch of hicks... ;)

erm... actually, i've been in the boonies for years, but civilization is beginning to find me here...
