"Growing old gracefully"...

My grandpa, she's 92 - she loves to dance, and sing some, too.
I don't know, but I've been told - if you keep on dancing, you'll never grow old!"

I love this! :D

Keith & Rita - COOL pictures!!! I have a similar one with my 3 brothers, taken in the same type pose. Not sure they do it quite like that nowadays. Did they do some color work to the pictures? I like that effect.

Not sure how they got the color effect. I took the original and encased it in a clear protection sleeve and scanned it. The scan looks almost as good as the original.

Speaking of old photos, the only one I had of my late Father was a panoramic photo of his Company of the 101st Airborne taken prior to shipping out to England, about 10 months before D-day. It had the Rell Clements photography markings and the name of his Company's Commander. With that information, and a google search I was able to track down the names of about 75% of his fellow paratroopers and received a photo, from one of the few remaining survivors, of my Father taken in 1942 at Fort Benning, GA. when he was only 18. He thought he had been killed and was surprised to learn he survived the war in a German prison camp. Now I have two photos of my Father.

Growing Old Gracefully

Define "old". Each day we live, we grow older. Once when I was in LA with my ex-husband, I had an opportunity to have Jose Eber do my hair, and I asked him (at my ex's suggestion) if I should cut my hair as to be more "age appropriate". And he went off! He said "there's no such theeeng. . . it's whatever is appropriate for the woman. So after a few years of fighting trying to be the country club "Stepford Wife, I got rid of the ex, and started dancing and, well, you know the story from there. I've started over on a whole new "life" and have never been happier. And I'm not fighting growing older, I'm just living life to it's fullest - regardless of what anybody thinks. Because, really, I don't need anybody's approval except my own. Great thread - thanks!
