Sorry for my age and my distance from the zeitgeist. But what is a PYT? Is that a so-called tango gazelle?

Actually a dated reference rather than the Zeitgeist.

Apropos old…. I just saw that today is the birthday of a woman I know in my local tango scene. She turns 102 today!!!! What an inspiration.

That makes the label gazelle more appealing than PYT for what happens at milongas

That certainly makes you a PYT in your scene Now we know why you been getting so many dances

Sexist clichés sometimes exist in tango. For example, that women can dance better than men. Or that men run after every short skirt with reduced intelligence. But the PYTs are IMHO more of a projection surface, don't play a big role in terms of numbers already.

I think if men are in short supply, then the real competition for older women is women 10-20 years younger. Because they can also dance, are also socially competent ... and if in doubt, fitter and more attractive.
