Guess how many pairs of shoes you have worn since you started dancing

I've only been dancing for a little over 2 years and I've accumulated 8 pairs of dance shoes . . . all of which are still in use at times!

I’ve been dancing less than a year, and I’m up to 4 pairs.
Seems like you are both new members. It is great to see new people here! We started this site in 2002, and it is a little slower than it was in the past, but maybe one day it will experience a come back. Anyways, thanks for being here. :)

Maybe a dozen pairs. I still remember the first one. By then I was taking ballroom group classes and the teacher was organizing a social evening for the pupils and because of the dance floor it was necessary to come with proper dance shoes and I had none, so he loaned me a pair of his. The next week at group class I went to him to give back the shoes.
"Were they ok for you?" he asked
"- Sure they were"
"Well, keep them then."

I started just over a year ago and I'm up to three pairs. One pair of super cheap starter shoes I wish I'd never bought, a pair of nice Latin shoes I danced into the ground and had to toss, and my current pair of Latin shoes that are well on their way to being replaced.

Ive been dancing 3 years and have gone through 10 possible 11 pairs of shoes. I now have a separate pair for ballroom and latin plus practice shoes which is slowing down the rate i go through them but at the start really struggled to find shoes that fitted and worked for my feet

on second thought I think my estimate may have been a little high. But three pairs times 24 years would be pretty close, especially if I am allowed to account Jazz sneakers and such

Revised figure: 44 Many were in the beginning trying to find the right fit and right style. But I must admit, I have worn most of them out. I have about 8 pair that I currently use.

I will glue them, tape them, hammer them, swap pieces from an old shoe, do whatever I need to do to get them to last as long as possible. I've probably had about 13 pairs (I'd guess 3 or so latin, 10 or so standard) since I started dancing 18 years ago. Currently have 3 functional pairs. At the moment, I dance only couple times a week in shoes, so they last a while.

About 25 pairs, including practice, competition, special performance shoes and random shoes like ballet slippers and jazz shoes.

I've only been dancing for 8 months and I already own 5 pairs... I have the ballroom and latin pairs that I started with but they look too gross for competition now so I had to buy comp shoes for both styles and then I have practice shoes.
