Guys who dance

I'm a straight male who likes to dance. I'm the only guy with 12 other girls in my hip-hop dance class. Does that make me gay? I get a lot of crap from my brothers and guy friends because of this. :\

Question: I only have one dance class each week and it's only 1 hour. Is that enough?

no, i do not beleive that makes you "gay", that would be a sexual orientation. i personally think that guys who dance are quite hott, and you arn't trying to impress and date your brothers are you? just remember that they arn't the ones danceing with 12 gorgeous women are they?

It sounds like you're from a rather small-knit town. Don't let what these guys say bother you. There are so many great men who dance who are not gay like Baryshnikov, Gene Kelley, Fred Estaire, etc. It doesn't mean you're gay at all, but that you love dance.

If you love it stick with it. And, when you're old enough to move to a more diversified city, you'll see so many more men (straight or gay) in dance classes. Don't give up. After a while you'll be so awesome with your dancing that your brothers and guy friends are going to be so impressed. They're gonna want to join not mentioning how many female admirers you're going to have. Girls love guys who can dance. :D

Also, if you want to and have time, then take as many classes as your heart tells you to. Dedication and discipline is a big part in what makes a great dancer. I hope you enjoy it.

it certainly doesn't mean your gay. I've actually had lots of guys take my classes as a way to meet women. As far as whether an hour once a week is enough it all depends on what you want to do with it. If its something you really want to learn so you can do it when your out...i would suggest working outside of class. How long depends on how well you pick it up. Except for this last year, because of classes, i typically spend 40-60 hours a week dancing, but i do it because i love to dance and i do it every chance i get. Which also means its virtually my only form of exercise...anything else i do, exercise wise is minimal. If your doing it just to broaden your horizons and give it a shot...well then maybe and hour once a week is good enough. I think that once you really relax you'll start to enjoy it a lot and find yourself wanting to learn more dances. Not to mention, depending on your current status...it could improve your love life.

PS. That was not a plug to use dance classes as a dating service. Though coincidently i met my husband at a demo i did once.

Dancing doesn't equate to you being gay, sorry. Especially in a hiphop class, hehe. Don't listen to your ignorant brothers and friends.

One dance class a week and one hour? You must be in the level 1 classes, which are usually 50 minutes and meets two days a week. But, only once a week is interesting. o.0

so to those bros & friends .. i'd say.. haaa!

Just tell those homophobic homebiscuits that you're the one hangin with all the honeys while they're playing hoops with all the sweaty boys.

Nice avatar, BTW. ;)

Do you live in a town named "Podunk"?
NO, YOU'RE NOT GAY! Your friends have oviously never encountered anyone who can dance and they also obviously don't know what they are missing. Retort to their insults with "DANCE IS A SPORT!"

THere is a great ski store called "PODUNK" in my area. AS for 1 hour being enough...if it works for you and you get out of it what you want then it is enough. If you feel you need more in order to progress faster then it isn't.

It doesn't matter to me whether you are gay, straight or an Alien

But I know I am reluctant to tell certain groups of my male friends about my dancing because I am worried that I'll get the same 'crap' that you are getting. :(

Guys who dance have the following huge advantages:
-They get ALL the girls
-They also get me :P
-They have sexay movements
-They are generally happy and satisfied when dancing, which means they are cooler and more easy to hang out with
-They usually AREN'T gay. On the contrary, they are very, very straight and hot!

Sexual orientation has nothing to do with dancing. NOTHING. Ask Sabor. :P
Those guys must be completely homophobic, which most probably means THEY are gayer than you. You are happy with your body and want to dance with it. Nothing more natural than that.
Pretty soon you're going to be so smooth and sexy that your hit count with ladies is going to skyrocket. We'll see what they'll say then. :D

Reminds me of the commercial where these guys sitting on the curb outside a convenience store are giving advice about women to another guy that has a woman, but is having some sort of difficulty. LIKE THEY WOULD KNOW!! LOL!

Don't worry about the guys. They really have no life. They only have an illusion of life, a faint shadow of what they could have. But then again, they have they guys to hang out with!
