Here is my overall observation:

I know for a fact the total number of entries was down quite a bit from last year. However, I heard many people (including myself) comment that the level of competition had risen considerably in all styles. The people who did compete, from Pro-Am all the way to Pro, were absolutely In It To Win It. I have absolutely no clue how the judges narrow it down, esp. in the Rising Star Smooth and Rhythm. Usually you can pick out an obvious 1 or 2 couples who won't go through, but it was very difficult this time, I thought.

Anyway, just my random, sleep-deprived thoughts.
