Welcome to DF!
 :lol:Laura said:I read two other forums but they do not compare at all to this one. This one is by far the best nowadays.
There's ballroomdancers.com, which is okay but doesn't seem to get the variety of people from different dance backgrounds that this site does. However, one great thing about ballroomdancers.com is their Classified Ads section. I've sold a number of used costumes through their web site.
The other forum I read is DanceScape.com . It used to be a great forum, but the owners kept putting on more and more and more rules and it's gotten to the point where it's virtually unusable. For instance, a newbie on DanceScape today asked for a pointer to a web site where people can look up competition results and pictures of top dancesport couples. However, under DanceScape's terms of service agreement, people can't say the name of a competing web site let alone post a URL! And a moderator from DanceScape patrols the forums and will ####-out any URL that they view as "competing" with them. You also can't post your email address, and if you can figure out how to sign up for private messages and post a URL in there they get automatically ####-ed out. It's a draconian policy that has stifled the ability of posters to help each other. Like, if someone wanted a web site that sold fake hair pieces, you can't post that link on DanceScape -- even though DanceScape doesn't sell wigs -- because they don't want the wigs web site to get what amounts to free advertising. I used to try to get around that rule by telling people who asked questions how to search on Google for what they want, and then DanceScape told me that wasn't acceptable behavior either. Crazy.
I don't believe it! :x Don't let the witches fool you! :lol:tacad said:NOoooooo! Say it isn't so!DancePoet said:There are other dance websites???

If they exist, I wonder if they even have emoticons, with this description given above.  :lol:tacad said::doh: :lol:Laura said:I read two other forums but they do not compare at all to this one. This one is by far the best nowadays.

I'll bet their emoticons are not as cool as ours!
