Help from a ballerina?

Hello,

Maybe someone here can help me. I'm trying to figure out the name for this ballet move (the French name, no less). Has anyone seen this before?

Thanks!

When I hit reply, I can see the picture. Strange...

Anyway, the dancer in the picture is on her left toes, her right leg is raised at an angle of 135 degrees. Her right arm is raised in a nice curve over her head, her left hand is pointing away from her horizontally, away from the raised leg. And she is facing in that direction also.

when I went to the link it showed what plastic dancer saw...it is probably a question best posed to our sister site for non-partner dancing

I can see your picture...unfortunately my ballet was always pretty terrible, so don't know the name of this particular position.

It's really had to say from that still. Could be battement develope a la seconde without the kind of extreme reach that's fashionable now (dancers for the best companies can put their foot to their ear, basically). Attitude had a bent leg; she's straight on both.

impossible to tell. it depend on two things: how she got into that position and which way she is looking. there are different names for downstage and upstage.

try this link me cake eating friend...

Thanks fd!

The position of the shoulder line, arms and head (port de bras) is known as "Ecarte derriere".

The extended leg is a battemant, probably got there through a developpe or tombe or something of the sort.

I Believe That is a Develope' and I believe the position is acarte' but it is hard to tell since this is just a pic and not a video ... it could also be a battement I hope that helps some
