I agree with fascination. You're a bit too vague.

... and if anyone can make that determination, it should be our resident physics major!.

Which reminds me of a joke:

What's the difference between a regular auto mechanic and a quantum mechanic?

The quantum mechanic can get your car into his garage without opening the garage door!

dancefreak2 posted a similar message on the non-partner dance forums. Here's a copy of my message I posted there. It may provide you with a bit more insight for what he is searching...

Okay! I get it

I saw this done at a dance performance this past year. I believe it is a class or training offered at college in my local area.

There was a screen and on it there would be various images projected. Then as a dancer would come out on stage, the images would change. What I liked most was when the had Dancer A on stage with a blank screen projection. Then Dancer B would come on stage and the projection would be whatever Dancer A had just done. Almost like they recorded it and quickly replayed it. Then Dancer C would come on stage and the projection would switch to what Dancer B had just done. It was really moving and gave a whole new dimension to dance.

If you're interested, simply send me a message via the Forums and I'll get you contact information for the school. They may have some ideas on books and additional resources.

Also, do you know if there is a specific phrase or terminology for this type of dancing with technology? If so, you can probably do a search at your local bookstore. Perhaps its just searching on the phrases dance and technology...
