Speaking from experience, it's just as wonderful during a VFR night flight from the left seat of a Cessna!

Welcome, Spencer.

yeh nuthin beats flyin a cessna!!!! :) i still remember my days as a solo pilot,did my flying from meacham airfield in DFW,texas :)
so im guessin ur a pilot too jay??
are u training or just hobby flying??
regards!

p.s., spencer, i hope when you have your foot on the gas pedal, you're not doing your cha-cha steps :shock: :lol: ??!!

btw, how does a cessna differ from a.....i dunno, boeing?? as you can probably tell, i know nothin' about planes! been to a plane assembly plant once, but that's about it!

Yeh, I'm a private pilot, single engine, land, VFR only. But I haven't flown in a couple years. Right now, we're spending money on dancing lessons instead of aviation fuel (which has gotten ridiculously expensive, anyway!).

I flew for fun and have no plans to do it professionally, although I've thought about becoming an instructor as a retirement activity (assuming there's a call for that by then... a couple decades from now, at least).

Hee hee... Lynn, your joke is even funnier than you anticipated, because the pedals in airplane cockpits are for the rudder, not the gas... so if Spencer did the cha-cha on his pedals, the nose of his plane would be swinging back and forth! I'm sure that would make his passengers a bit uncomfortable, to say the least!

FYI, the throttle control on a plane is more like it is on a speedboat... it's a hand control you set to the engine power you want and leave it until you need to make an adjustment.

I'll let Spencer answer your question about the differences between little Cessnas and big jetliners, because he's flown both and I've only flown Cessnas!

-Jay

hi guys,was away flyin for a couple of days :)
hehe as jay said,the thrust levers on all modern jetliners are like those of a speed boat,only diff being we have technology called as auto-throttle,so we dont have to manually keep fiddling with the thrust levers,the auto-throttle makes adjustments automatically :)
lol jay ur right about the chacha bit,using the rudder pedals in air induces what we call a dutch roll,which wud defi make a few of my pax very nervous :)....p.s the rudders on the boeing 737 are very very powerful hence never used in normal conditions in the air.....:)
jay,i did a about a few hundred hours of instruction time as well in my flying club,passing on what u know to fellow students makes the instructor very happy :)
@lynn
cessna and boeing are 2 companies amongst others which make airplanes,the cessna is worldwide known for its training aircraft like the cessna 152 or the cessna 172,small 2 or 4 seater planes with a lil propeller up front :)
the boeing is a large commercial jetliner,varies in weight and seating capacity with the type for ex boeing 737 what i fly has a capacity of approx 170 passengers wheras the boeing 777 has a capacity of around 300 passengers.These jetliners dont have propellers,instead have large turbofans which hang from underneath the wing :)

oooops nearly forgot....tonite is ballroom night at a nightclub here :) it happens on the 2nd sat and the last wed of every month,been going for about 9 months now.....cant wait!!!hehe :)
ta!!!

derek,
do u mind telling me the nightclub in which there is ballroom dancing? would appreciate ur info.
keep dancing, and keep flying !!!

hey, spencer, nice to hear back from you!!

I guess you better keep your feet still - no chachas for you until you land!!! I know if I was on a plane and my pilot were doing his dance steps while his feet are on the pedals - ANY pedals - i'd probably be running for the exit (of course, i'd be grabbing a parachute in my hand!)

@music_dance
it is more of a dinner place turned into a nightclub for the latin american nights twice a month :)
im from india so i doubt u will find this info helpful unless ur from india :)
post up where ur from

@lynn :) hehe yeh i do all my chachas on the ground,i had so much fun last night dancing,and now im gonna go for a flight all happy hehe

how popular is competitive ballroom dancing in india?

i saw an indian couple for the first time this week at USDSC - i mean, not the first time i ever saw an indian couple, of course, but the first time i ever saw one in competition.
