High bun or low bun hair for competition?

:oops:o_O:eek:
I had to google backcombing, and I’m horrified at the thought of how difficult and time-consuming it would be for me to UNDO that method. It already required four - FOUR - shampoos to remove all the product I used, after about 30 minutes of painstaking (and painful) picking apart the rock-hard clumps of hair.

Note to self: search for DF threads on the best methods for removing ungodly amounts of products from one’s hair (that do not involve actually shaving one’s head).
It is pretty easy to get out, (conditioner like Well Rounded said) and some of the hair stylist at competitions will do that to your hair for some of the fancy updo's. OK, I never put picture of myself here, (see profile image) but... the first is old from the braid comp.. 2007, the other two are from 2015. I had bangs in 2015 and the person that does my hair is a dancer and does beautiful competition hair. When he cut the bangs in I asked what to do with them for competition and he said either gel/spray back or use some gel and sweep to the side with a ton of spray. It stayed the whole time... You can see that although the sides are tight, the top is softer. These days, even the sides are softer... but I can tell you it doesn't move.
