Any one help?

I am a complete beginner but want to learn to dance to hip hop in the London area, anyone have any pointers about the best way to go about it?

I'm totally useless, here, other than the power of :google: I know zero about London.

I did find a webste danceweb.co.uk that seems to have a pretty comprehensive listing of dance classes that browsable by city and by type of dance. Not sure how much hip-hop's posted there, though. :?

Any UK DFers in the house? Can you help?

And welcome, MM1979. :D

Don't know anything about hip-hop. Places I've looked at previously which I've noticed had hip-hop classes are:-

http://www.pineapple.uk.com/descriptions/popandhiphop.htm
and
http://www.expressionsstudios.com/timetable.php

London Dance has a page with a hip/hop section here, probably less than DanceWeb though.

BTW - While DanceWeb looks to have lots of useful information, I wouldn't treat it as comprehensive. It misses around half the dance classes I know of locally.

You could try Imperial College, if they're who I think they are they're pretty impressive:

In fact try any of the the London University/College Students' Union websites as they usually provide pretty cheap classes and lively company. Just search for UCL/LSE/Goldsmiths/Queen Mary's/King's etc. depending on your area + students' union and have a look at the societies listings.

I'd go with that. I don't live in London, but I live in a university city in the UK and there's a lively programme of dance classes at the Uni, and they aren't restricted to matriculated students. (And people of all ages go, too  )

Think it's the same in most universities in the UK.
