Nadia Eftedal is once again putting on her Holiday Ball (Dec 30) and Dance Camp (Dec 27-29) in 2012 at the Beverly Hills Hilton. Is anyone going?

I attended last year, and it was terrific. This year the latin line up is; Barbara Ambrose, Shirley Ballas, Ruud Vermey, Maximiliaan Winkelhuis and Aleksandar Josipovic. The subject of the camp is "The Charismatic Dancer".

A description and schedule (and registration) is up at www.holidayball.com

I'm looking forward to going again!

Just a quick report out on the Holiday Dance Camp.

I enjoyed the camp greatly. It presented information on what makes "The Charismatic Dancer" in a well thought out and concise manner. It gave a very clear framework from which to work if you want to develop charisma in your performance on the dance floor (and heaven knows I can use all the help I can get there - LOL!). The lectures were great and they were always followed by exercises and workshops to personally explore the subjects presented. And then a guided practice was held afterwards to continue applying the learnings to your own routines and dancing.

The attendees of the camp ranged anywhere from beginner to high level youth and pro couples. There were quite a few "singles", both those that currently had no partner or were pro-am. Everybody was quite friendly and supportive; and being in the company of such high level dancers and teachers was inspiring!! It was also amazing to see the final presentations of all the dancers, to see how they had absorbed and started to apply the work of the three days. No matter what the level, you could see a greater level of awareness in what they were presenting and how to develop it. It was a great time, and I highly recommend the experience!

Thanks LatinGal for the recommendation. I hope I can go to one of these dance camps at some point. It is at a busy time of year for those of us not living in that area. I wonder if they recorded any of their lectures for DVD for those who could not be there?

Hi debmc! I'm pretty sure they did not record any of the lectures....and yes, the time of year is a bit problematic in one way (holiday's are usuallyfamily time!), but it was well worth the effort to get there in my humble opinion....
