How can I tell if my dress bodice is too long ?

Hi,

I bought a resale dress last week.

I tried it on to get the dress shortened up from the bottom hem.

However, my dressmaker said that the bodice may be too long for me.

The bodice is the same length all around finishes off at about the lower part of my hip where my thighs start on the front and at about my tailbone at the back.

I can't quite tell whether this is the style or that it is too long for me.

This is not my dress but it is of similar cut.

What do you think ?

The only thing is this dressmaker is not the one who made the dress.

Plus I will need to take off some diamante and break the patterns.

She also told me that I may end up with some diamante glue marks around the stitching.

that is not a big deal IF she is a good seamstress and if you can save the stones and re-stone those areas...i have done both and am far happier with a better fitting garment...just depends
