How do you attach stones?

Vince, Gemtac dries clear, so you don't see that any more than you will E6000. Plus, Gemtac doesn't dry out in the bottle like E6000 does in its tube.

The REAL key, as Laura mentioned before, is getting whatever glue you use to ooze out from under the stone and all around the edge. You want the glue to come up the edge of the stone. THAT is what keeps the stones from falling off. Otherwise, all you've done is glue the reflective backing to the fabric. If the bond between the reflec and the crystal is weaker than the bond between the reflec and the fabric, guess what? The crystal is gonna pop off.

I spent part of yesterday morning repairing a costume for someone. There were lots of stones that had popped off, leaving foil spots behind. The glue residue was obviously E-6000, too. So yes, go for the ooze!

Another time I was remaking an old dress for someone else, and it had lost many gross of stones. The owner said that the original dressmaker said it was a problem with the glue itself, but I find that hard to believe because once again there was lots of foil spots all over the place.

To practice, you can always stone a t-shirt or leotard first.

Stones on the dress

I just post a reply on the similar topic. Read it. I have a Fashion company- House of Udachi. We are in CA, Los Angeles are.

We do Ballroom and Latin dresses for over 20 years.
Stones from our dresses DO NOT FALL OFF!!

The secret is - use glue E-6000. Be generous using it.

Good Luck,
Serge

My WEB site is combination of all kind of things that I do as a designer.

There are couple of my dress designs and my scetchers of dresses. I didn't update the styles of dresses, it changed dramatically from what I posted a while ago. But you can get an idea of quality of work we do and quality of my scetchers. Also, Photos of Igor and Irina Suvorov (who we sponsered for years) will give you better idea of more mordern styles that we do. Welcome to look at it. And do not hasitate to send email or contact me here with any questions.

Nice work!!!

Thank you guys.
I really appresiate your coments. Both these dresses were made for US Amature Champions to represent US at the World Championships. Two different Years. We use to sponsor 4 US Professional Champions at the same time. Not anymore. LOL Too much work and no return. LOL One of the pros. use to hold $10000 worth of dresses dancing shows and never return them or sell them. Never brough even box of candies for all the work we did. Of cause we don't sponsor anymore.

How did I got to all that from thanking you for compliments?>>> I guess brain made a loop and get to the sore spot. LOL SORRY!!!!

Anyway. I thank you again. And if you need my help with designs or making gresses, please let me know
