How much touching is needed for teaching Latin ?

Me: You want me to put hand where? And lift?
Yeah, no room for bashfulness with lifts.

Funnily, I'm fine actually doing them with people, but when I'm showing someone a lift and explaning "OK, then I'll put one hand here, and one hand, um, there", I find it a lot more awkward.

An almost common situation:

When I was a noob, I was drafted to do a showcase.

My pro wanted a trophy lift---lifting her by the pubic bone over my shoulder, elevating her right above my head, supported by a straight arm from below (my arm and hand forming a chair for her to sit on, cheerleader style).

Me: You want me to put hand where? And lift?

Her: Would you rather trade places? [delivered with impish smile]

She always had a smile with that lift---mostly, I suspect, because of my discomfiture......

any man who can lift me deserves to touch whatever he has to;)

fear not...isn't gonna happen...

in fact, FP was fairly slight of frame, and whenever a showcase was suggested, I would always suggest that we do a lift and I would lift him, which was far more plausible...I suspect that he did not appreciate the suggestion

lol fasc, could see you lifting FP, would have made a great number. but yeah, can't see him appreciating it. :)

The current exhibition champions (Craig Smith, Natalie Woolf) do a move where she lifts him. (And Anissina and Peizerat made a point of this in their ice dance routines).

So did Faiella and Scali--until she dropped him on his head.

I find being lifted while skating easier than dancing on the floor myself, possibly just because the momentum provides a lot of help.

I don't think there is a spot on me which was not touched - accidentally or intentionally or as a side effect. I really don't care when it happens. I don't see it as something sexual.

No, it isn't. And when you're actually dancing (or lifting), it's not a problem.

But when you're 'feeling around' trying to work out the best lift point for a crotch lift (the man's hand goes basically where the name suggests!), then yes, that does feel awkward to me. Particularly (TMI to follow) when you're trying to work out where the man's hand has to be to avoid the 'most sensitive parts' for the woman during the lift (not avoiding out of prudishness, but because it hurts).

[Going back to dancing rather than lifts: I remember reading on another board a follow posting about when a man's hand somehow slipped from behind the shoulder to in front. And he carried on trying to lead from the new hand hold! The follow was completely accepting that it was just 'another dance accident', though she did tell him: "Y'know, that's not something I want to be lead by"].
