How tan is tan enough

A couple weeks ago several of you helped me with my decision for a Latin shirt to dance Newcomer and Pre-Bronze. I am pretty happy with my choice, I found a Latin shirt that has no see thru, only open a few inches on top, (not open to my belly button), it does have sequins on the collar, but all in all appears to me to be very subdued compared to others I have seen,.

Next question is the tan. I am dancing rhythm, mostly newcomer. Once again I have no idea what is appropriate. I boat every weekend so I am certainly not pasty white, I have some good color but don't look anything like I have "taken" a tan.

Please help again, how tan is tan enough?

Sounds like you are good to go. Good luck and have fun! And be sure to report back.

you'll be fine then...my pro is see through...and it is no big deal

To be honest, I think your Pro looks ghastly pale in the comp photos you have posted, particularly compared to you. Yeah, it's Pro-Am and they're technically judging the Am until Open levels, but IMO it's odd to see one partner tanned and the other not.

Fake tanner does not have to be orange - I used to use Superbraun and it was not at all orange - there is an entire thread on this

I've been on the floor with them and he never stands out compared to the other male dancers, pro or am, as being especially pale. I think photos just sometimes wash out (and fasc DOES naturally tan pretty dark so by comparison everyone looks pale!)

he is pale...but he wears a full turtleneck and his face does pink up when he has exerted himself, that being said, sometimes I get too dark and the contrast is jarring...since both of us are deeply set in our ways, I don't expect it to change...it is what it is :)

Good point. I've seen a number of photos of dancers with tan bodies and white faces. Something weird happens when photographed.

When I was getting makeup advice pre-wedding, the MAC consultant told me that a lot of makeup contains titanium which gives a white appearance in photographs, and told me to buy their "studio tech" cream foundation instead of the powder foundation I normally wore - I wonder if this is the issue here?

A lot of makeup products (particularly primers) that aren't labeled as "photo ready" or "HD" have silicone in them which will show up as hot spots on camera.
