How to improve musicality

The waltz is not only a German/Austrian/Polish folk dance, but also the traditional wedding dance. So be on your guard in case the women's intentions are not clear!
This is what earned the :D.
But the vals tandas are very popular here anyway, the milonga tandas could also be left out for some.
Same here. However people dance valses, the floor is always fullest for those and emptiest for milongas . . . you could replace all the milonga tandas with vals tandas and make the overwhelming majority of people happy.

I enjoy Vals, but I don't know if I dance it right. I think I have too much of my ballroom waltz sneaking in. I am a bit more dynamic and ballroom waltz is a turning dance, so maybe not too bad.

I think I've been to one class that was advertised as vals. It turned out to be a pattern to include in a vals dance, not a discussion about how vals should be danced.

I enjoy vals; I enjoy milonga; I enjoy tango.

We do tend to reserve vals and milonga for ourselves, but not exclusively.
I'm pretty sure followers like the chance to whirl down the floor.
Yep.

Most of our milongas use 3T-3T-3V-3T-3T-3M. Non-UK milongas have used 4T to 3V and 3M, but rarely come across 4T here.

Interesting, I'm partial to vals pandas but rarely, if ever, to milonga tandas. However, I was told that women LUV milongas. Why I don't know since they are rarely lead well (speaking locally not universally).

When the motorbike worked ok enough it was used on my childhood roads. But when there was a problem the engine parts were on the garage floor for thorough search. That was the day when your good knowledge about the parts and their function gave you sooner a new ride.

Different bikes needed specific knowledge and so need the techniques different tango teachers have!

Mechanics and technique are a completely separate skill from driving and interpretation

Yes they are separate when the mechanics work but everything stops when the mechanic gives up.

When my pivots became better, and the muscles turning my body became more prominent my dance was also on the way to the sunrise! At this point on my AT path I am really interested about the fundamental basic movements. How to identify them and develop them.
The same for figures!

I am a little bit late again but I wonder if someone could post a performance clearly using these variations 1-1-1, 1-2-1, 1-3-1, and 1-2-3? or are all the performances like that? with correct vals structure?

Or post an example when it goes wrong?

Argentine vals appears to be a topic of some contention. I'm definitely in the camp which says "vals is supposed to be more smooth and flowing than tango", but there's obviously another camp out there that propagates dancing it quite staccato like 3/4 tango, and most performances at milongas seem to do it that way (for the record I really don't agree with it). so I'm not sure how authoritative we can be abiout how vals should be danced.

To play devil's advocate I think it's musically justifiable to dance d'Arienzo valses in a staccato style. (but I don't actually like d'Arienzo valses.)
