How to slow down leather sole shoes?

Any advice on how to give leather soled dance shoes more traction? My Aris Allen raw leather sole dance shoes are WAY too slick and slippery on the dance studio's floor. I feel like I am dancing on an ice pond.

Aside from gluing suede over the leather soles, does any one have a technique or product they use to obtain more traction? Thanks to all !

Are they brand new? If they are, go outside and do a bunch of swivels on rough concrete to scuff up the soles lots. That should slow them down. Ditto if they're dirty.

Other than that...dunno. Improve technique?

New Aris Allens are way too slippery for any nice, slick floor. Like Peaches says, just rough them up a bit, and they'll start to slow down.
(Improving technique alone is not going to fix this to the point where you'll be comfortable dancing in them on a slick floor.)
