In plain "traditional" english please :?

In my opinion, learning to salsa won't help your abilities to grind. Two different disciplines (yes, I am being generous refering to grinding as a discipline ;)).

You are probably better off looking at MTV and some of the pop videos for moves to help you with your club dancing.

Feelling comfortable moving your bodies in different ways? Hey! Someone wants to learn salsa, for whatever reason, I'm up for it. ;-)

Have you tried searching for salsa video clips online?

video clips

Hi there,
this is Maria from Drugaya Forma. Thanks for checking us out. Yeah, we we have some instructional free video clips and are planning to add more stuff on "2" this week. What would be good to add more beginners, intermediate or advance? more styling? Please any advise helps. Thanks. Maria

More ladies' styling please. Perhaps tips on spin technique. Actually, as long as Maria is in the clips, doesn't matter...

<Oops, did I just say that out loud?>

Gud luk in doin it. U r wantin all the results wit none o d effort. Guess goin 2 skool was too hard too?

Spelin help communication, btw;

considering how dreadful this person's communication skills are according to you, saludas, you're amazingly quick to dialogue with them. in fact i think you probably respond more rapidly when you see an opportunity for an insult or a dig, as opposed to when you have something worthwhile to contribute.

Not much grinding in Salsa, it's a real dance, but if I were you I'd buy the Eddie Torres two video/dvd set.

hey cashface you're much better off taking hip-hop classes and watching music videos (or renting "dirty dancing" :p) to learn grinding
btw whoever told you to learn salsa for grinding obviously knows little about salsa, everything is different, including the music, flavor, etiquette, attitude, everything! It'll be a waste of time
But in fact I'd recommend salsa dancers go take some hip-hop classes to get of that feeling-the-music quality - many of my favorite & most charismatic salsa dancers have a hip-hop background

Would someone please take the time to explain the concept of "grinding" because it kind of eludes me...

And taking any other dance classes but salsa really helps. I know a lot of people who have been dancing ballroom before they started salsa(my instructor danced Bulgarian national dances for four years before he started salsa :)) It if really shows you have any other dancing experience. One of the guys I admire the most has been dancing ballroom for 16 years and recently he started dancing salsa. Everytime I see him dance I'm like

Never formally schooled in hip hop, but having danced a LOT of it, salsa was a difficult transition because of the different emphasis of beat. Hip hop is emphasized on beat 2 and 4 with no obvious pause, while salsa has the pause, and that pause can be on beat 4, beat 1, and now apparently on beat 3 according to the new post, cuban style? Someone please correct my beats, if I'm not wording it correctly!

I think maybe the grinding got associated with salsa because of how close the person dances with his/her partner. There are many times I feel the rhythm and move to how my partner is moving his hips, pelvis. To me, salsa sways the hips side to side, and hip hop moves forwards and backwards.
