I need help and others POV

To find a partner perhaps. It's free. There is also a forum in French.

According to your profile, you are 23! A perfect age to start partner dancing. Your background in ballet and gymnastics should help. As others have pointed out, you can easily find a few Standard & Latin dance schools in Luxembourg with a quick internet search. You are indeed massively overthinking all this! Just go ahead!
Wow! What a lot of people.

And that raises the next decisions: social or competitive dancesport. Then the partner dilemma(s) - for practice or beyond.

Easier not to overthink! Just do. Get started and find what you like. Just a word of warning - dance teaching appears massively slanted towards teaching [male] leaders** whilst followers are often expected to just pick it up. At least that's been my experience until you get beyond 'novice'. Maybe there are classes which are better.

**this is because some of us poor male dance leaders do find it difficult to even work out our right from our left, irrespective of what we think/hoped we led our follower to do at that stage. Or any concept of 'lead'. It does get better.

Thank you very much I didn’t except to have so much help. And even better it’s in French.

that’s probably really true but I promise I’ll do my best to stop overthink it and just do it.

Like I said just before, I’ll do my best and I’ll try to not think that much. Obviously, my thoughts make it difficult but when I finally get what I want and find a dancing class I’ll thank you all again.

And that’s okay, thank you for the warning and I’ll see what I have when I try my futur dancing class.

I am a life long horseback rider. My last horse passed away about a year ago and I just can’t afford another one right now. So I’ve started taking dance lessons. I only recently started standard ballroom dancing but I actually find a lot of crossover from my skills riding horses to dancing. Mostly body and weight awareness, posture, arms and legs working independently and even the way the line of dance works is similar to how a ring works.

First of all I want to thank again all the person that respond to my first message and who tried to help me.

I wanted to make a little update since the last time that I wrote here.

Today I took my first lesson of standard dance and even tho I was really stressed it was a good experience and I really want to continue even more.

I feel like I’m not that bad and my dance teacher actually said that my past in gymnastics and ballets will definitely help with my posture and the way I control my muscles.

Again, thank you very much.
