I Need Help Learning To Dancehall Dance

Hey, I'm new to this forum, I was wondering, if anybody knows of any sites with instructional videos or just picture/word instructions on how to do a variety of dancehall/reggae dance moves, and how to move with the music, please list them, it would be greatly appreciated. I am trying to learn how to dance like the dancers in Sean Pauls music videos.
I've had a passion for watching the dancing, but just recently wanted to take a venture into it after watching BET's Spring Blings Re-vamp champs dance in my hometown at the Carribean festival. It looked so fun, so please, help me out if u have any sites, video links, or tips for me.

There are a lot of reggaeton people here, but I don't think there are a lot of dancehall reggae people. A lot of folks don't know that it's the same music, just lyrics in two different languages. That may be why you've had few responses. That, and the fact that weekends here are relatively slow. I don't know of dancehall videos, per se. In my observation, dancehall is a mix of grinding and hip hop dance. There are quite a few good hip hop videos out there.

I'm headed out for the afternoon, but I'll post some suggestions on hip hop videos later this evening (if I remember.)


In the meanwhile, check out the grinding threads indexed at the top of the general dance discussion forum.
 
Just as a little side tidbit, I am more looking towards freestyle dancing on my own, without a partner, and a little less info on partner dancing.

CampusTheKind, if you go back and check Pygmalion's initial posting, she mentioned hip hop videos :roll: I don't think there are is hip hop 'partner' dancing or maybe I blinked and missed that :? :D
 
Yes. In my observation, the kind of dance you want is more like synchronized solo dancing than partner dancing. I think most of the input still applies. 8)

BUT THE MAIN THING IS A DANCEHALL SONG HAS ALOT OF RIDDIMS GOING ON AT THE SAME TIME SO PIC ONE MOVE TO IT AND DO WATEVER THAT COMES TO UR MIND(cuz thats basically wat they do).... AND WHERE EVER U LIVE I KNOW THERE MUST BE A LIL JAMACIAN COMMUNITY WHERE U CAN GO AND CATCH THE NEW DANCE.....
