Is it important to you to have him/her do so?

I'm NOT in this situation, but if I was married or in a serious relationship, it would be really important to me that my SO support me in my dancing, at least by coming to comps!

:kitty:
I really wanted to vote the cat, but truth to tell, Spouse has a 100% perfect attendance record. Granted, it was my one-and-only comp. But still. He showed up.

my husband probably attends 2 of every eight...and that is fine with me...that he bank rolls it, puts up with the BS...and still loves me is more than enough

Last SO wasn't really interested in dancing, though I tried a few times. For a committed relationship, though, I would hope they'd enjoy and support me :)

SO shows up to most first time things (new partner, new dance style, first big comp), but is excused from the rest if he desires (actually he doesn't really have to show up to the first time things either). He shows his support each and every day by putting up with my practice schedule and hours away...

My husband wouldn't miss a comp unless it was a scheduling issue that he couldn't get out of. He'll even come and watch a practice or two :) He's my best supporter and he knows how much that's appreciated.

Hmmm, in phases. First phase, "yeah yeah yeah - do I have to come? NASCAR is on - you go enjoy". Second phase, "do you have to be gone so much for lessons? just for a studio show? Do I have to come?" Third phase, "Are you seriously going to pay that much money to compete?!!I knew you would - I told you this would happen - you go dance I'm not sitting around all day to watch 90 seconds of you dancing" Fourth phase, "you placed what?! out of all those people? wow - maybe I should have come but NASCAR was on, can I drive to the next competition-where is it?" Final phase, "dh hangs with competition ballroom studio folk, our instructors, goes gets gatorade, gets bananas, watches over the older ladies and gets the things they need, talks to everyone, stays the entire time, tells me what I need to do (sighhhhhhhh gotta love it) and now wants a studio jacket that says "go-for" instead of his name. PostScript - NASCAR now gets recorded for viewing later. hahahahaha

LOL!! Love it!

My SO is equally passionate about his hobby, and it takes up almost as much of his time as dancing takes of mine. I support him and he supports me and neither of us feels the need to include the other in our separate pursuits. We just like to sit around and catch up afterward. :D

That is the best 3wishes!!! Thanks for sharing.:D

SO is not interested in ballroom. He tried it once to humor me, and he was actually pretty good! But he didn't like it that much, so I don't torture him by inviting him to sit around at comps or socials. He's got his own hobbies that he enjoys. We each do our own thing, in this respect.

SO does enjoy watching showcase performances, particularly if my costume is skimpy.
