I'm slightly taller than my partner - is this a problem?

Hi, I finally found a dance partner through a dance school website, apparently he's quite skilled already, I'm not - this will be my first time doing beginner's courses. The only issue is that we're both 178 cm (I might be 179, I'm not totally sure of my exact height honestly). I will for sure wear heels, I cannot imagine dancing without them, I chose 4 cm ones, since 3 cm weren't even available. It shouldn't be a problem in hold but will our height difference still make it feel comfortable?

Congratulations on finding a partner! I hope the two of you get along well with your dancing. The height similarity should not be a problem. If it means that the two of you have similar leg lengths, it will in fact make things easier than if you were significantly shorter than him.

I didn't get a chance to welcome you to the forums but I'm glad you came and would love to hear any updates you had about how it's going with your partner.

You will almost be the same height - his flats will have about a 2cm heel. Unless you have substantially better posture (as opposed to poise/hold) than he does, it should not be a problem, especially if you take a strong lady’s poise/shape.
