Inflation

I bought a 6-pack of toilet paper yesterday (mega-roll charmin) and it was...$10.19.

I'm still in sticker shock. I purchased it at the customer service desk, to avoid some lines, and it was the manager who rang the sale. I did a double-take and said, "Are you kidding me???" His comment was that it's everything going up, across the board.

I hadn't noticed anything else that blew me away like that. What are you folks seeing out there?

:oops::oops:ashamed to admit that I don't even notice....

normally i am the same. i am not an extravagant purchaser overall, but i buy what i buy, and it is *always* more expensive than average, what with all the organic stuff & exotic foods. so i generally just accept my choice and deal.

however...this one just stopped me cold. since i purchased only one thing, it really highlighted the expense.

Wow... that is pricey... I'd probably need smelling salts after that too...

I do remember at one point over the summer looking at some bell peppers...and their $/lb or do they sell them by .ea? can't remember... anyway the cost per unit was close to if not exceeding the price of gas in my area... I was really shocked by that at the time... and decided that I really didn't NEED the peppers for my salads that week.

yah, i had the same weighing thoughts as well..."do i really NEED the toilet paper???"

i went ahead and bought it. ;)

lol...well, i suggested at the counter that mebbe we should go back to using newspaper...

Or some leaves

You can get a pack of 9 over here for cheaper than the Charmin 6 pack. Maybe I should start selling them on fleabay and do worldwide distribution  You can get a pack of 12 also for less than $2 - although that's on the verge of using sandpaper... hmmm

install a bidet and never buy another roll :)

unfortunately, bidets have gone up %3,000 - but you will still be saving in yr 2,578

I just paid $2.50 for a four-pack of the store brand. I don't think I saw anything for $10, but then I don't buy the huge packs or name-brands.

just fyi, these weren't the little normal-sized rolls...they're the ones that last quite a bit longer. but i can assure you...next time i shop for this particular product, i'll be re-assessing my brand choice. :)

Though toilet paper is one of those things you don't want to skimp on...splurge there and save on something else ;)
