"International Symbols"

I came across this today, and it made me giggle.

The Heart

Worldwide symbol, meaning: Love, patience, tolerance.

It's also an old Swedish symbol for a unisex toilet!

Do any of the Scandinavians here on DF know this? Has anyone else come across this?

Are there any symbols that you know of that have a "double meaning" :D

Yes it can be found on the door to some toilets. I can't remember seeing it on any public toilet, but sometimes I see it at people's private toilets. I don't think the symbol says anything that it is a unisex toilet, only that it is a toilet.

Oh, you mean like the crescent-moon hole cut high on the doors of American outhouses.

I haven't seen the American ones but I think it is the same thing. Sometimes the symbol is on a plate attached to the door.
