Is break dancing hard to pickup?

Currently I am taking hip-hop and jazz dance classes and will soon be doing tap too. I have always wanted to learn how to break dance and was wondering if it is hard to pick up. I only started dancing a few months ago and I am really loving it.

Additionally, are there studios for break dancing? The studio I go too does not teach break dance so I was curious where I could learn it at. Does anyone know of any good studios in the Phoenix, AZ area that might teach this?

If you aren't able to find a class in your area, you might want to try picking up some videos on breaking (or bgirling/bboying). The Groovaloos have a few DVDs that will get your started. You can find them online.

I have been taking Hip Hop for 8 years (since I was 7). I am now learning how to break dance. Yes, I think it is very difficult to pick up. It takes A LOT of practice and strength and balance. I've never heard of a studio that teaches break dancing. If you're really serious about learning it, I would get some videos, like genie said.

1) Yes it is very difficult to pick up.

2) You need to be strong, you need to practice a lot, you need to eat good food.

By the way, there are some studios that offer BBoy/BGirl classes.

Hi, its my dream to breakdance and I can tell you it IS very challenging. Especially if you're learning it by yourself through online videos. I wish someone can teach me.
