Stop thinking and just dance....


Lately I have started to think that the rule - Never stop and give instructions at a Milonga- is not in the first place a social rule, but a rule to develope a flow in your dance.

well it is a social rule. no-one wants to hear you talking on the dance floor. Its annoying.
especially the ignorant pratt who talks for two and half minutes...

Is it only me thinking, or is it really so that usually leaders tend to give instructions on a milonga? Well, I rarely (if ever) see a follower to do so... but some men I see a lot explaining things for the ladies. :eyebrow: :?:

are you asking is it only men; the answer is no; I've had leaders disappear because of one certain lady who tells them what to do, but her balance and following is terrible. But its probably more men than women....

I only dance with followers at milongas, so I can't comment on how many leaders give instructions. I've certainly received instruction from followers, though.

The rule - Don't give instructions at milonga - has positiv social effects but I think it has deep personal advantages when you shut down your own inner talk, the inner instructor and just focus at the music and partner at the milonga.

I think the division practica and milonga is brilliant!
