It's All In the Shoes....

Hi, dancing friends. I am "coming out" today. Today, I am admitting that I am a lady dancer with a WIDE FOOT. Whew! That was difficult to say, but now that it's out? Well, I'm sure there are others out there who want to know: where do those of us who don't fit the shoe mold buy shoes we can dance in, reasonably priced, and still be comfortable? Here's where: Dream Dance Shoes. I'm not trying to promote their business here, ladies. I'm trying to promote your foot health and well being. No other manufacturers offer custom heel heights, wide widths, in pretty styles at reasonable prices. So what? Only petite ladies all with the same size feet dance? They even carry wide width Latin dance shoes! Give them a look-see. I haven't ordered as yet, but plan to. Do NOT buy Capezio for ballroom dance -- they are not true ballroom dance shoes and your feet will hurt after the first lesson. I know there must be others with wide feet who would like to have this information so I hope they allow this post to stay up. It's a public service more than a promotion.

I like Capezio's Latin for inexpensive shoes. Took a while to break them down and really only had to replace the first pair after I spiked my own toe and bled on them (I didn't even NOTICE at first; we were sitting between heats, B. glanced down and said "Is that blood?")

Googled dream dance--yeah, this is the Chinese company? No wonder they're cheap. They might be fine, but same with dresses, I don't gamble on ordering from Asia.

kroer, welcome to DF and good luck with your shoe search - finding the perfect shoe (sigh) for each style can be a never ending quest for some dancers, including myself, who has a medium to narrow foot....e.g. seven years and counting. one has to just keep looking, and/or buy and resell shoes until the truly wearable styles are found. i wear a different brand for each style of dance, mostly high end european shoes, but am extremely grateful that a chinese online company (not the one mentioned in this thread, btw) makes an acceptable quality, pretty, durable smooth shoe that i can wear out of the box and could go for a run in it need be...so no dissing chinese shoes from me...they can be great. example A....i just discovered the best fitting latin shoes yet, so will be reselling all my almost new ray rose soon... and keep in mind, different styles by any brand might have different lasts and fit, so always try each model of shoe...

Dream Dance Shoes is not the only company who customizes shoes.....just sayin'. I love the company I get my shoes from, and I have a wide foot.

Where do you get yours from as I have a wide foot and struggling to find shoes to fit

I've only worn Glide brand court shoes for years. Love the fit! And, you can customize just about everything from width to sole to heel height and style to fabric and color. :-)
