Jennie Garth, Melanie Brown and Tori Spelling on DWTS Season 5

Now, can one of you explain to me who any of those people are? I have not heard any of those names before. But I must admit the only thing I watch on American TV is DWTS and SYTYCD, I am neither into shows nor into soap operas. I also used to watch Oprah for a while years ago, I really like her but have not found the time to watch her in the past 2 years since I have been back in the US.

In the last DWTS I knew only Leilah Ali, Apollo Anton Ono and Tucker Carlson (because I have been watching CNN over the years on and off). I hope they will have someone this season that I know.

However, my husband discovered an interesting channel for me a couple of days ago (we have DirecTV), it is called Ovation and has programs about art, music, dance etc. Very interesting stuff. On Thursday evening I watched a concert of Compay Segundo in l'Olympia in Paris, after that a documentary about tango and Buenos Aires (was very good!) and then a documentary about The Afro-Cuban All Stars, very nice, great music and great pictures of Havana, made me want to go back to Cuba! And all that in one evening.

Sad to say that Nick Kosovich will not be on this season of DWTS. I asked and he confirmed...nice guy....

(sigh) Will definitely miss "the manly chest". Not that I ever was a fan of hairy chests, but lordy that man can dance. I wonder if even Jonathan will be back on this season....it sure does seem that they are going for the young latin/rhythm dancing guys and cutting out the older and/or smooth dancing guys.

And I know there was discussion about this somewhere else but its like 4 in the morning and I couldnt find the thread....

90210 was a show on in the evenings back in the 90s. Ian Zering, Jennie Garth and Tori Spelling were all on the show. Very popular...I'm sure someone can come up with a link or something to the show so you can see it. After that came Melrose Place and then Friends, all very popular with the 20 to 30-something crowd...

I'm also getting excited about the new season starting up. I've read somewhere that Mark Ballas and Derek Hough are going to be on this season, which would be great to see some new faces, but like so many, take these little tidbits as speculation. I also doubt very much the music will improve, but at least I hope it's not way out there as some of the selections in the past have been. Hard to believe how fast the time is whizzing by, though!

According to E!, boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. is also rumored to be joining the cast.

E! also had a picture of Kelly Monaco, Cheryl Burke, Kym Johnson, and Regina Poryes at Edyta's bachelorette party in Vegas. I'm not familiar with Regina Poryes -- any chance she could be a new DwtS pro?

Possibly. Regina was competing as an amateur up until 2004. I thought I heard she had turned Pro, but I honestly don't know for sure. I think she started as a kid at the same studio in San Francisco where Alec Mazo came from (and Edyta too, but she arrived much later).
