Just saying no

Just got a call from my dance studio about a group routine I had put my name down for before Christmas. The cut off for signons is tomorrow. Now that I have been having problems health wise, I told her that I have to say no because I have to get these other problems sorted out.

But I really wanted to do it. It's going to be a Rocky Horror collage and was going to be a heap of fun! I just feel so dirty. I guess I just assumed these problems would be over by now and I'd be able to do it. I guess I still could, but my priority has to be my health, regardless of how much I love dancing and performing.

I guess this begs the question, is there anything dancewise (or non dancewise) that you have wanted to do with every ounce of your being, but just had to say no, for one reason or another?

Let it all out! We'll worry about the clean up later.

Most of my "no's" have had to do with lack of funds, or the inability to justify the funds. Of course, when I was trying on that lovely Chrisanne dress, I was just overcome with a flood of emotion that blocked my good judgment! *LOL*

Sure, there are definitely things I've not done and it pained me. I got over it.

Funnily enough it's the financial "no's" that I don't have a problem with. If I don't have the money I can't do it, simple. I can't just pull money out of the air so I just live with it.

An update though. Went to the naturopath on Saturday and had a very positive visit. Really felt like she could help me (and now in hindsight that feeling was correct, I'm feeling much better today). I got a call from the studio on Saturday afternoon, literally begging. They only needed one more person or the whole thing would not be going ahead. So I thought about it and decided to go on the side of positive thought and signed up. I guess with the healing path I am going down, positive thinking plays a huge part, so if I sign up just assuming that I will be better in a couple of weeks, I will be. I've told them I may need to take it easy for the first couple of weeks, and maybe only do half a rehearsal, and they are OK with that.

So I'm doing the routine anyway, and I'm happy about it. :D
