Lack of Energy

I started social dancing when I was about 24-25, and at most with tango, I had sincere energy, enthusiasm, expression.

I’m now 39, dance bachata, and that is gone. There’s no energy/edge/spice to it. It’s rather resigned and bland, I’d say.

I’m more “man” now I’d say, so perhaps that explains I’m essentially more still, reserved. But some dancers are (by core) very masculine, but still got energy, drive.

No health issues, healthy life style. A strong fatigue and tiredness follows me almost constantly though, I think caused by challenges in life.

Anyone experienced the same, and what did you do about it?

Fear and self conscious have replaced courage, or perhaps it was foolishness. A fear or lack of hope for executing an identity. I don't know.

But hey — if you can envision it.

Oh, I'm so sorry. It must be very painful. However, your current state has nothing to do with dancing per se. However, the constant confrontation with motivated and committed dancers is particularly hard for you. Only through this confrontation you become aware of your current condition. Don't be ashamed to admit, get help. You don't have to suffer.

Sometimes, it helps to remember why you first started dancing to help reignite that initial passion. Trying out new styles or approaches might also bring back some of that spark. It’s totally normal for things to change over time, so just finding what feels right for you now might help you get back some of that energy and excitement.

I think this is something you can find inside you. You have to look for it. the alternative is staying the way you are, but if you look for it and you just bring out that energy that I know is inside you you will feel so much better. Listen to Tony Robbins or similar.

I don't understand that. For you, "more man" means "more still" and so "masculine" means "lack of energy", "lack of drive"?

Listening to "calm" app and good daily sleep helps me a ton. Also stretching every morning. There are a ton of reels on IG you can find with a simple stretch morning routine that lives you feeling energized. Of course also protein. Dancing is in the end a sport.

Yes, that sounds like great advice. Being healthy and having energy is a combination of diet, exercise, and mind cultivation.
