Looking for a new partner

So my partner of four years has decided to stop dancing after enjoying the non-dance life due to covid. I want to find a competitive Standard Partner in Bay Area California. But I’ve feel like I’ve been so disconnected with the community for so long that I have no idea where to start anymore. Anyone have any thoughts or leads? Btw already checked ballroomdancers.com and FB. Would appreciate the help!

There was that match.com-like website for finding ballroom partners...what was it? dancepartner.com?

There are also a number of seeking-partner groups on FB—have you exhausted them all? Is there a Bay Area ballroom group on FB?

Dance partner.com left a bad impression on me. I got a few connections, none of them were serious. A lot of gentlemen looking for a little bit more than just dancing. I was coming there for about a year and saw the same names still looking. It may be different for younger leaders seeking partners. Try it.

sharon did not post on the ballroom forum. Hence my comment that "long lasting" is not at all desirable for social dancers, Larinda. But please excuse me, I still don't master the subtleties of the English language. It simply was an attempt at irony.

Social contact (yes, it's hard, and lots of fails). Group lessons. Basically networking.

Just an update regarding this post. I ended up finding a partner and it turned out to be my wife! We are now competing again and hope to go to NDCA Nationals next year!
