Loves me some BBC

Anyone here see the House of Cards series? It looks cool, but not cool enough to buy just because it looks promising...

Oh my goodness!!!! Loved it. It's nice and cyclical. I think the last series was planned from the very beginning, just like a lot of my fave British TV series. So different from American TV. I like the first in the series (House of Cards, I think) the best, but I'm not sure if that's because of the novelty factor.

The main character, Francis Urqhart (sp?) is delicious. (I would give more, but I don't want to spoil your fun.) I believe I've seen the videos at my public library, and I know I saw them at Blockbuster several years ago. I doubt Blockbuster'd still have them, since BB tends to go with stuff that's currently popular. Maybe Netflix?

Definitely worth the time. :)

House of Cards is a classic. It's clever, well-written, cynical, unpleasant and fascinating.

At least... "you might think so, I couldn't possibly comment" !!!

... Rather like politicians - well, except the well-written and fascinating bits!

I preferred 'House of Cards' to 'To Play the King'. As with any sequel, the best plot devices have been used in the original, so it falls back on repetition and the plot devices that were originally thrown out!

If you have not seen it, it gives little away to say that the suspense, intreague cynicism and unpleasantness continues un-abated into the the last few seconds of the last episode!

As British television drama goes, both series were right up there at the top.

What a brilliant actor Ian Richardson is! And that tag-line must be the best ever.

I loved "House of Cards." :D

Rosa :)
