Two months to go!

Who is going? Dancing, volunteering, spectating?

If dancing, which events?
If volunteering, in what capacity?

CCP and I plan to be there, dancing and spectating.
Tickets purchased.
New samba routine being worked on. ;)

Does anybody know if it is allowed to dance let's say in silver in gold category with a gold routine? Or just in silver? What are the rules regarding this? It will be my son's first time and I worry a lot :)

I believe you can double register for silver and gold, but you will have to do silver and below steps for the silver event... obviously, you can add gold steps to your routines for the gold event. My partner and I did silver and gold latin years ago, and we had 2 sets of routines, one silver but very basic and then gold steps added to our silver routine. Of course, sometimes we forgot and did the silver routines in the gold event, but that doesn't really matter.

Our event is heavily invigilated, so you are not allowed to dance gold steps in a silver category or you risk getting disqualified from the event. Also, please make sure to check the dress code avoid any issues there. If you have any specific questions, you can post them here or PM me.

I know a couple people who can vouch for the level of invigilation that occurs, and it is as high as Mandi says. I accidentally threw in a V6 last year in bronze quickstep and got a warning for it. :( Nothing quite like hearing after a round, "Paging couple [your number]; Please come to the judges' area."

Oh yes, I had a talk with Dan Calloway for a "creative" step once...
