Mac 2012

It may be too early to ask this question, but I need to plan which comps we will do to qualify National 2012. I checked the USA Dance website and I do not see MAC as NQE. It was not listed at all, even though other comps that are held on later dates than MAC were listed.

Is MAC 2012 an NQE? Does anyone know?

Thank you.

Yes, the MAC is an NQE. Thanks for pointing this out, I'll be contacting the webmaster as soon as I finish this message to get that fixed.

well, kinda hijacking the topic...but what is a NQE? Does it mean that if you win / place in a certain level at prechampionship/championship, you get invited to nationals? also, you HAVE to get invited to nationals, you can't just register?

I'm sorry I know nothing about these things

Hi,

No, you don't need to be invited to compete at Nationals, but you also can't "just register" in you have never competed at an NQE (National Qualifying Event).

In addition the two people who enter
1) Must compete as a couple in at least one NQE
2) Must compete in the events and age categories that they plan on entering at Nationals
and
3) Must have place in the top 75% of Athlete Couples in that event at an NQE

a. Events with only 4 or fewer couples – all couples qualify
b. Total number of couples measured by the actual number that dance – not the number that entered the event.
c. Mathematical rounding based at .50 (point-five-zero) and above. For example: In an event with 6 couples entered (6 x 75% = 4.5), 5 couples will qualify. In an event with 11 couples entered (11 x .75 = 8.25), 8 couples will qualify.

Just bumping the thread, since there are now 31 days till registration closes, and 44 days till the MAC.

See you in January!

Hello all!

I will be doing all of the volunteer coordination for MAC 2012 and in order to make the competition run as smoothly as possible, we need dancers like you guys to give us a hand. If you are available to help out at any point during the MAC weekend, please send me an e-mail at [email protected] and we'll get you all set up!

Great! Thanks for asking. :-D

Good luck with all your work. Organizing volunteers can be like herding kittens.
