For those who have gone to this comp before, what was your impression? I am trying to decide if I should go... I have never been to this one.

As others have said, the competition turn out is great. The pros are not to be missed.

Chris, Whytes is brand new. Perhaps you are already familiar with the geography but in case you are not, it would be a taxi ride from Whytes in Williamsburg to the comp (no direct subway line between the two neighborhoods and too far to walk).

I have not been there yet myself, but I understand there is both a restaurant and a rooftop bar. I believe I read a good review in gothamist dot com. The owner runs another restaurant in the area, Marlow & Sons. You may want to ask the hotel to send a menu to you so you can check the price range of the entrees. (I would expect bar cocktails to be about $10-12.) There are a lot of restaurants in Williamsburg (for better or worse, known as Brooklyn's hipster central). On line, chowhound and grub street are generally good sources for opinions and reviews. Also NY mag dot com. Have fun.
