Million Dollar Steps

Agreed... but unfortunately right now it's part of one of my long walls, and a whole short wall in my routine with a turn in the corner... and I struggle to maintain the "beautiful" past about 3 repeats. When I nail it though, it's going to be great!

what's so hard about pivots?
(I realize asking that probably indicates I have no clue what I may be doing incorrectly in pivots)
just curious if there is a specific challenge associated with them?

I can remember working some amateur couples on pivots and I think it is just a matter of a lot of things that to be right at once, or they just don't work or feel uncomfortable. Ex. the feet become splayed, or someone gets back weighted, etc

Apparently it's going to be continuous reverse wave in foxtrot. Sigh.

I'm proud to say that one year later, and after lots of work, I may have figured this one out... at last week's lesson, we were working on it (again), specifically on really working the standing leg and delaying some parts of the movement and shape... and it's starting to look good!

Still spending time on continuous reverse wave in lessons... and practice... and more practice... but at least it's now improved enough that we've decided to start my routine with it. And after spending this much time, energy, effort and $$ on it, it deserves to be shown off!

Just had a lesson with Shirley Ballas on these a couple weeks ago! Probably saved me a lot of $$ down the road to hear what she prioritizes in them!

Reflecting on this now, I'm starting to feel like rumba walks belong here for me. Don't know if I'll ever stop working on them in lessons or in practice.
I guess dancing involves walking extremely well!
