The wife and I are celebrating our 30th anniversary by traveling through California (even though I wanted to go back to Buenos Aires). This past Saturday we were at El Encuentro in Los Angeles. We had a really nice time there (as a bonus, our friends Fernanda Ghi and Guillermo Merlo were there and gave an outstanding performance). The women there had very nice embraces, so a compliment to the teachers in that area (whoever they are). We may go Practica Electrica tonight (since it's walking distance from our hotel on Venice Beach), then tomorrow it looks like we'll go to the Tango Mio Milonga, before heading north to San Fran on route 1.
The only milonga we know for sure we're going to in SF is the Verdi Club Milonga on Thursday. We're undecided for the rest of the weekend in SF, although the All-Night Milonga at the Beat on Saturday night sounds interesting. After that (on Monday), we'll make the long drive to San Diego for a few days, before returning to LA for Thursday & Friday nights.
If there are any milongas that people on the west coast recommend, I'd love to hear them.
