Hello tango people.
Do you have some recommendations for regular milongas in Istanbul? Something you heard was good, or something that you visited (recently-ish?) I'll be traveling soon and I need some help. There are too many events! What a complaint, eh?
I'm traveling with a leader, we dance well, we value a nice embrance and especially the leader values having a semblance of a ronda. Apart from the first tanda, we are really looking to dance with people we don't know. I prefer traditional music with informal seating. If i need to reserve a table in advance and need to know either the waiter or the organizer in order to get a good table, that event is not for me.
Suggestions about the ways milongas work are also welcome, or comparisons against BsAs or european capitals. Is mirada-cabeceo the way to go? Or whatever else you might think of. I'm all ears and very grateful in advance.
