Hi, everyone,

I'm finally getting a few days off work (yay!!!). I've decided to hit the theatres with my friends/co-workers. The problem? we're so out of touch with reality that we have no idea what's good on right now.....so..... can anyone recommend a good movie??

eh  ?? did i mention we're in our 20s & 30s???? Or is C&C one of those movies that's for everyone??

Hmm, chocolate....makes me hungry....

I like movies but there's not a lot out there right now that intrigues me. I enjoyed War of the Worlds. I'll see Must Love Dogs when it comes out. It looks like it will be more of a chick flick but John Cusack will probably be able to pull it back a bit with his everyday, common guy personality. I like John Cusack anyway. I did like Fantastic four ok. Nothing great.

i always associate C&C with Cheech and Chong. Anyone in here, who still knows what that is?

...some of my faves...

Shawshank Redemption(serious human drama with Tim Robbins!)

Devil's Advocate(Al Pacino- HOT! Cool quirky ending . Not too deep...)

The Fight Club(Ed Norton in a great role. LOVE the totally quirky ending!)

Sheltering Sky(with John Malkovich. Great film if you're into travel)

...as you see I don't like fluff...

LOVE Cheech & Chong!

Officer: Can I see your license, please?

Cheech: Isn't it on the back of the car??

ha ha ha!!!

Charlie & the Chocolate Factory was great. I think it is one of those kids movies that adults come out loving, too. Usually, I take my kids to one of their movies so I can catch an hour and a half nap, but this one kept me entertained.

is up in smoke the most popular?

Chong: Do you have something to smoke?
Cheech: Sure
Chong: That's a tooth pig - man.

Chong: My dog ate my stash - i had to wait 3 days until i got it back
Cheech: You mean we are smoking dog so what?

There are other great things you could quote. Nice Dreams is cool too. Or Things are tough all over. I can't imagine that there are people want to have that translated.

and now - to end my post
Chong: You know some people say elvis is the king of rock'n roll, but Chuck Berry is REALLY the king of rock'n roll.

Was that really good? I've been scared to see it, with Mr. Depp in the Gene Wilder role. :?
It's not here yet, but I saw the trailer. Depp's face had way too much foundation on it, in a rather sickly, unappealing white. Gene Wilder's version was great...

I was leery about seeing this because I thought no one could do the role like Gene Wilder. Johnny Depp's performance is his own, though; I found myself making no comparison at all. And there's interesting music and digital effects that make it fun. Johnny Depp did look a little too much like Michael Jackson, but I got over it. I would say it's definitely worth seeing.

In fact, I will probably go see Charlie... just because Mr. Depp is the lead role. He is an original. Always a pleasure.

I forgot about Mr. and Mrs. Smith. I enjoyed that.

Wedding Crashers was ok.
